Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.
Exceptions include:
- Suspected child abuse, dependent adult or elder abuse: Psychotherapists are required by law to report abuse to the appropriate authorities.
- Client’s threatening to commit serious harm to another person(s) or property: Psychotherapist are required by law to notify the police and inform the intended victim(s) of such threats.
- Clients intending to harm himself or herself: Pscyhotherapist make every effort to ensure client’s safety and will take any necessary measures provided by law to ensure the client’s safety.
